The Nordson ASYMTEK Select Coat SL-1040 Conformal Coating System is an automated conformal coating solution developed for high-volume production environments. It is designed to ensure first-pass accuracy and repeatability in applications where post-process rework on electronic assemblies is not possible.

The Select Coat SL-1040 delivers high precision for conformal coating applications with tight masking requirements, offering ±100 μm platform accuracy and Cmk ≥ 1.67 process capability. Its enhanced selectivity and flexible architecture support a wide range of board-level applications, enabling reliable coating results even on complex PCBs.
Ultrasonic Nozzle Cleaning Station
One of the key differentiators of the SL-1040 is its newly developed Ultrasonic Cleaning Station. Programmable via EasyCoat® 6 software, this system uses high-frequency pressure waves to generate cavitation bubbles within the solvent, enabling brushless and non-contact cleaning of coating material buildup on nozzles and needle tips.
This method:
- Removes deposits unreachable by mechanical cleaning
- Prevents damage to system components
- Goes beyond static cleaning methods by enabling a preventive maintenance approach
Cleaning timing can be defined by the user:
- Before production
- At program start
- After idle periods
- At predefined intervals
When the applicator tip enters the cleaning station at the scheduled time, the ultrasonic cleaning cycle is automatically initiated.
Automatic Solvent Level Control and Uninterrupted Production
The Ultrasonic Cleaning Station operates with an integrated automatic solvent level control system. When the solvent level drops, the system automatically replenishes it to maintain the required level.
This design helps prevent unplanned downtime and ensures continuous process operation.
Single / Dual / Triple Toggle and Trim Packages
The SL-1040 supports single, dual, and triple toggle configurations, allowing the use of up to three valves. Nordson ASYMTEK standard Trim Packages enable system configuration based on specific production priorities:
