The Microfocus X-Ray Parts Counter XC-01 is a microfocus X-ray–based component counting system designed to automate component counting in SMT production and warehouse operations. It enables fast and highly accurate counting of SMD components on reels and trays.
Using AI-powered image processing algorithms, the system eliminates manual counting errors and improves inventory accuracy.
Microfocus X-Ray Technology
The XC-01 is equipped with an integrated 80 kV sealed microfocus X-ray tube. This maintenance-free design delivers long service life and stable imaging performance.
With a 30 µm focal spot and a high-resolution digital flat panel detector (FPD), the system provides clear and detailed images—even for very small components.
Fast, High-Accuracy Counting
The XC-01 can count:
- Four 7” reels, or
- One 15” (380 mm) reel
within 7–10 seconds.
It supports reels or trays up to 17” (430 mm), including those inside moisture barrier bags (MBBs).
Counting accuracy:
- ≥ 99.98% for 01005 components
- ≥ 99.99% for 0201 and larger components
AI-Powered Counting Algorithm
The XC-01 counting software uses AI deep learning algorithms. Components do not need to be predefined; the system automatically recognizes the component type and applies the appropriate counting logic.
The algorithm learns from:
- Component geometry
- Edge angles
- Arrangement orientation
- Image distortions
As more data is processed, algorithm performance continuously improves, achieving even higher accuracy over time.
Automatic Code Reading and Labeling
The XC-01 supports:
- Automatic barcode and QR code scanning
- Simultaneous code reading during counting
- Automatic label printing when reels are removed
No manual switching is required between single- and multi-reel modes.
Additional functions include:
- Work order number recording
- Counting history queries
- Statistical reporting
MES / ERP / WMS Integration and Cloud Infrastructure
The XC-01 can be integrated with MES, ERP, and WMS systems. Data and images generated by the machine are uploaded to a cloud database, while algorithm updates are automatically downloaded.
This structure enables continuous algorithm improvement using data collected from all installed systems.
Safety and Operator Protection
The system ensures safe operation with:
- Radiation leakage levels compliant with international standards (≤ 1 μSv/h)
- Rear door safety interlock (X-ray shuts off automatically when opened)
- Anti-pinch safety light curtain
